Scouts

My son Myles has been in scouts since he was eight. He has done many things to receive badges for what he has accomplished. I am so glad to see the effort he continues to make with the scouting program.
I know it not always an easy task to go on the many hick or outing that scouts requires but Myles has show an effort.

Watch out don't pin the mom! He was careful..what a thoughtful son!

To blog or not to blog

It not an easy task to blog when your going to school full time and deal with five active kids in school. The homework keeps me on the computer more than I prefer.
This past couple of months my cat Oreo had five little kittens. She has always been a afraidy cat. I know why the faze was given it. Oreo mothering instincts kick in and she was a great momma cat.
I helped hand feeding them when needed. My kids love them more than anything..

My youngest had the deepest bond with the kittens. Every time his bus would beep to get him off the kitten would run to meet him at the door.
We gave the kittens to good homes..and momma cat is having with drawls for her kittens.

My good friend Michelle

Michele and I became friend when we were on our mission in Seattle, Washington March 2002. I knew her as Sister Nix. The first time I should have meet her would of been at transfers but I happen to get really sick with a fever and bronchitis so I stayed with a member family in bed. So, Sis. Nix came to me as my companion with a member. She was mad at me for not being there at transfers to pick her up.
We were companions for three months which created a bond that would last for a long time. Our companionship wasn't any easy one because of issue which had been brought out with me. When serving other you would be surprised what learn about yourself. Michelle told me this we were friends in the preexistence and that she promised me that she would help me with the path I had chosen because she knew it wouldn't be an easy one. She wrote this to me at end of our companion.... "Sis. Miles you know the song somewhere out there? Just know that there is someone always out there beneth the big blue shy that loves you and is thinking of you." The funny thing is its the opposite know.
We stayed friends after our mission and was married within weeks of each other. I went to her wedding in Salt lake valley and she came to mine as my brides maid honor.
This is at her wedding!

My honor brides maid..she support me in so many ways.

Life has a way of just continuing to go on and it did for both us. She was their to listen to me and to give me advise when needed. We stayed friends for a long time then she got breast cancer. It considered me greatly so as I prayed for my friend. I lost my good friend to breast cancer. Her husband told me when she died that she would be my Guardian angel. I think of her often and so grateful for the time i did have to be her friend.
Many times when I have experienced great emotional pain I have felt her presents next to me. I look forward to the day I can throw my arms around her and give her a great big hug and tell her I have miss you my friend!

Myles 12th Birthday

I have four birthdays in the summer months out of my five children. Myles is one of them born June 8th. We decided to have his party at pool which has wave rider. He paid for another three of of ridding the wave rider. My youngest son Max even tired it but never lasted to long. He wanted to rid it better and got upset when he didn't.
The Allen kids came to Myles party and Jared rode it too.

Savannah got into the action with eating the cake which melted from hot sun. It was tasty as seen from her face.

Graduation of my freinds son

On Thursday of this week I went to a graduation in Florance Arizona. I have never been to Florance before but it was an adventure.
I would like to think that Denise spirit was there that night watching her son in one of the biggest moments of his life. He is a sweet kid and think she would be proud of her son.
Our kids have been freinds since they were babies.

Sherlock's First Adventure

Madilyn was in a spring play on April 1st at Kino Jr. high. She played the part as Irene Adler. She did an excellent job with the English accent. She said she messed up her lines but from my perspective she didn't.

I admire her from her courage to get up on stage. Not easy to pretend to be some else with others watching. I think it cool that she got to be apart of a play with her friends Amanda and Abby.

My real mom

I am not sure how to write this next blog but I feel like I need to. I was born to biological mother Veda Raven Miles. She was born in Oklahoma . Her mother was named Lura Morrill and her father name is Leon Raven.
My mother was a different child is from what I was told. I am not sure of her personal history because I didn't get to know her much because I didn't growing up with her. My mother told me once she valued her relationship with her mother and her family. She looks a lot like me is what I have been told.
I never got to know her family growing up...her brothers or cousins. In the past years, I have got in connecting with her brother Errol and cousins. It has been a real thrill to get to know this long lost family I haven't really known. I don't know many stories about my mom except for the ones I was apart of which weren't the best part of my life. My mom had a mental illness called Paranoid Schizophrenic. Back then and even to this day mental illness brought shame to family. I think it was a trail for my mom and her family..including me. Its not a shameful things to have mental illness. I know she was loved by her family and mother. She died in 2008 after she had broken a hip. I look forward to the day I can meet her and really get to know my mother.

My birthday Get-away

For a treat Christina and I made a tradition of going away for my birthday weekend which happen to be on this last weekend. Christina is my sister and my best friend I enjoy all the time I get to spend with her. Traditions mean a lot to me because I have always felt like I have lacked them as apart of my life growing up. Its also a great plus on getting a break of being mom...
One of the best placed we have gone to is a Bed and Breakfast in Payson called Falcon Crest. We have got to know the owners Linda and Alan. They treat us like family. They are great at spoiling us by serving us which is great being a mom because it all we do but serve our families.
This year it started to snow while we were up in Payson which was a beautiful sight cause it has been a while since I have been in the snow.
Here is one of the view of the cabins. We stayed in their main house. We spent out time watching movies in their theater and playing games with Linda and Alan. We sure had a lot of fun!

Valentine's Day 2011

I got a big surprise today from my son Jordan. He wrote me a Valentine from his Spanish class. He told me his teacher wanted them to do it. I am glad his teacher gave such good assignment.
This is what his Valentine said.... Querda Madre,
This may not be a whole lot, but I thought you deserved it. I am thankful for everything you do, I try my best to help out with the kids and the house. It must be hard being a single parent while raising five kids. Just know that even when we may not get along all of the time that I love you.
Happy Valentine's day!
Your son,
Jordan
His words touch my heart. He such a good kid. He is a good big brother and help out all the time which I appreciate more than he knows. I guess, he made me realize I need to share more with my son of my appreciation.
